Women's Cross Country Signs One of the Top Prep Runners from Southern Arizona
Central Arizona Women's Cross Country signed one of the state's top prep athletes on Wednesday. Rayleigh Olsen, from Benson High School in Benson, AZ has committed to run cross country and track for the Vaqueras for the 2026-27 season.
"Very excited to sign one of Southern Arizona's top athletes" Stated Head Coach Jon Harmon. "Rayleigh will come to our program and help our ladies improve dramatically next season, she know's what is expected and is eagar to compete."
Assistant Coach Connor Deakin helped establish contact with Rayleigh and after a campus visit she was ecstatic to be offered an opportunity to compete for the Vaqueras.
Rayleigh was 6th overall at the 2025 AIA Division 4 Cross Country Championships in the fall with an impressive 20:38.20 5k on a hilly course. She also placed 2nd at the 2025 State Track and Field meet in the 300 meter hurdles and 4th in the 100 meter hurdles, respectively.
