A select group of the men and women's track team competed in the 2026 Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Saturday, hosted by the University of New Mexico. The meet marks the 5th meet competed for the Vaqueros and Vaqueras.  

Results:

60 meter Men:

Darius Cade-7.27 which is a season best. Darius placed 39th out of 43 runners in the unseeded race.

60 meter Women:

Mickayla Gardner-7.39, her time qualified her for the NJCCA Indoor Championship. Mickayla placed 9th out of 21 runners in the invitational race..

Ariana Carry-7.55, her time qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship. Ariana placed 10th out of 71 runners in the unseeded race.

Shaquania Jacobs-7.69 which is a season best. Shaquania's time qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, she placed 33rd in the unseeded race.

200 meter Men:

Antonio Carrola-21.95 which is a season best. Antonio placed 31st out of 76 runners in the unseeded race.

Bryan Thomas-22.00 which is a season best. Bryan placed 37th in the unseeded race.

Richard Hall-22.01 which is a season best. Richard placed 38th in the unseeded race.

Darius Cade-22.20, he placed 54th in the unseeded race.

200 meter Women:

Mickayla Gardner-23.46 which is a season best. Mickayla's time qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, she placed out 2nd out of 77 runners in the unseeded race.

Ariana Carry-24.54 which is a season best. Ariana's time qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, she placed 31st in the unseeded race.

Shaquania Jacobs-24.75 which is a season best. Shaquania's time qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, she placed 42nd in the unseeded race.

400 meter Men:

Antonio Carrola-47.88 which is a season best. Antonio's time qualified him for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, he placed 11th out of 60 runners in the unseeded race.

Bryan Thomas-48.40, he placed 15th in the unseeded race.

Donovan Davidson-1:20.77, he placed 9th out of 30 runners.

Emmanuel Simiyu-1:21.46 which is a new personal record. This is also the 6th fastest time run all-time by a CAC Athlete. Emmanuel placed 11th.  

600 meter Women:

Hannah Hammer-1:46.18, she placed 25th out of 27 runners.

800 meter Men:

Emmanuel Simiyu-1:54.25 which is a new personal record. This is also the 2nd fastest time run all-time (Indoor) by a CAC Athlete. Emmanuel's time qualified him for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, he placed 18th out of 58 runners.

Joel Barros-1:59.39, he placed 37th.

Gabrial Escanuela-1:59.54 which is a new personal record.  This is also the 10th fastest time run all-time (Indoor) by a CAC Athlete. Gabrial placed 41st.

Carson Wetzel-2:00.80 which is a season best. This is also the 19th fastest time run all-time (Indoor) by a CAC Athlete. Carson placed 45th.

Joel Barros-4:16.28 which is a new personal record. This is also the 10th fastest time run all-time by a CAC Athlete. Joel placed 12th

Fausto Pianciola-4:19.71 which is a new personal record. This is the 12th fastest time run all-time by a CAC Athlete. Fausto placed 19th.

Gabrial Escanuela-4:25.98, he placed 29th.

Erardo Gonzales-4:28.74 which is a new personal record. Erardo placed 34th.

Fausto Pianciola-8:46.37 which is a new personal record. This is the 11th fastest time run all-time by a CAC Athlete.  Fausto placed 20th out of 38 runners.

Justin Escanuela-8:55.91 which is a new personal record. This is the 17th fastest time run all-time by a CAC Athlete.  Justin placed 25th.

Erardo Gonzales-9:18.62 which is a new personal record. Erardo placed 34th.

Max Lopez-9:30.72 which is a new personal record. Max placed 35th.

60 Hurdles Men:

Richard Hall-8.01, his time qualified him for the NJCAA Indoor Championship. Richard placed 10th out of 35 runners.

4x400 Relay Men:

B. Thomas, D. Davidson, R. Hall, A. Carrola-3:11.13 which is a season best. The team qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Championship, they placed 6th out of 17 teams.

High Jump Men:

Kwontis Davis-1.98m, he placed 18th out of 26 jumpers.

Triple Jump Men:

Augustine McCabe-14.80m, his jump qualified him for the NJCAA Indoor Championship. Augustine placed 13th out of 30 jumpers.

Shot Put Men:

Wilbert Green-13.28m, he placed 23rd out of 38 throwers.

Shot Put Women:

Shlya-Mae Constable-10.45m, she placed 33rd out of 37 throwers.

Weight Throw Men:

Wilbert Green-13.29m, he placed 28th out of 31 throwers.

Weight Throw Women:

Shyla-Mae Consstable-16.61m which is a season best. Her throw qualified her for the NJCAA Indoor Championship. Shyla-Mae placed 12th out of 37 throwers.
