Vaqueras Finish Third at NJCAA Championships
The Central Arizona College women took third place in the NJCAA track and field championships that concluded Saturday.
Elexis Fuller-Stewart placed in three individual events for the Vaqueras, whose 76 points trailed Iowa Central (143) and South Plains, Texas (133). She took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.71 seconds, fourth in the 100 (11.59) and fifth in the 200 (24.24). Fuller-Stewart also ran a leg on the fourth-place 4 x 100 relay team that included Aliyah Mathews, Prasanna Polite and Plasarae Johnson and posted a time of 46.35.
Adriana Woletz was fourth in the women's 800 with a time of 2:15.81. Finishing fifth for the Vaqueras were Agata Klimovich in the 800 (2:17.87), Ashanna Hodge in the 400 hurdles (1:02.68) and the 4 x 400 relay team of Polite, Bianca Burrell, Klimovich and Woletz (3:51.42).
Johnson took sixth in the 100 (11.76) and 200 (24.38), April Steward was seventh in the 1,500 (4:56.00) and Micah Dennis was eighth in the discus with a mark of 127 feet, 8 inches.
