Central Arizona College Men's and Women's Track and Field win ACCAC Titles

Central Arizona College Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams competed in the ACCAC Conference Championships held at Mesa Community College on Friday afternoon. The Vaquero's and Vaquera's both left Friday night as conference champions, scoring in 33 of the 38 events possible. "A total team effort" Stated Sprints Coach Kim Dismuke. Central Arizona not only scored in nearly every event but also had first place finishes in the Men's 100 meter, Men's 200 meter, Women's 400 meter,
Women's 800 meter, Men's and Women's 1500 meter, Women's 100 meter hurdles, Women's 400 meter hurdles, Men's and Women's 3000 meter steeplechase, Men's and Women's 4x100 meter relay, Women's 4x400 meter relay, Men's and Women's long jump, Women's discuss, and Women's Shot Put.
Leading up to the conference meet, Head Coach Andrew Wood gave the men's and women's teams encouragement and motivation to execute in their respective events. On Friday, Central Arizona met those expectations as a team in addition to having some impressive individual performances. Trayvion Whie-Austin (100 meters, 200 meters, Long Jump), Joda Campbell (100 meter hurdles), Kamijah Carter (400 meter hurdles), Kwanda Knight (400 meter hurdles), Ariz Duarte (1500 meters), Princess Kara (Discuss, Shot Put), Joshua Bowen (Javelin), and the Women's 4x100 and 4x400 all qualified for the national meet held at South Plains Community College in Texas.
Central Arizona College Track and Field teams will be back in action at the Glendale Invitational on Saturday April 10th at GCC Stadium. Results from the ACCAC Conference Championships can be found here.
