Vaqueros and Vaqueras produce some solid performances at the Paradise Valley Invitational

The Central Arizona College Men's and Women's Track and Field Team competed in their third meet of the season at the Paradise Valley Invitational on Saturday. The weather was ideal with very little wind and temperatures rising to the mid 80's. "The weather was great, perfect day for a track meet" Stated Head Coach Andrew Wood. "We had some all around solid performances with a few additional standouts and qualifiers for the National Meet". CAC produced some great individual performances securing first place in 11 of the 38 events run for the men's and women's combined.
The following individuals not only won their event but qualified for the National meet held in May in Levelland, Texas: Salomay Agyei (400 meters) Joda Campbell (100 Hurdles), Kwanda Knight (400 Hurdles), Princess Kara (Discuss), Kamijah Carter (400 Hurdles), and Kyle Partin (3000 SC). "These individuals continue to work hard at practice and strive for a very high expectation of themselves, I am very proud of the team and those that qualified. We will continue to stay focused on our goals and remain adamant on producing every week" Stated Distance Coach Jon Harmon.
The Vaqueras and Vaqueros will be back in action with dual action at the Distance in the Dark/Cody McBride Invitational held at Mesa Community College. Distance events are slated to go off on Thursday 3/25/21 with the field and sprint events on 3/27/21. Results for the Paradise Valley Invitational can be found here.
