Saturday 3/13/21

Centra Arizona Men's and Women's Track and Field teams got underway with their second meet of the season by competing at the PIMA Aztec Invitational held in Tucson, AZ.  The meet consisted of ACCAC schools Pima, Glendale, and Mesa Community College.  Central Arizona held its own and went on to win a total of 17 of the 36 events held between the Men's and Women's teams.  CAC was led once again by solid individual performances from Precious Robinson, Aaliyah Bartholomew, Rachel Rose, Princess Kara, Salomay Agyei, Olumurewa Olalere, Joda Campbell, Joel Nyatusah, Thomas Soriano, Trayvion White-Austin, Nathanial Mark-all athletes won their events, respectively.

"We had to battle the wind, cold, and drizzle today but I'd say the teams really stepped up and made the best of the weather into some quality performances"  Stated Distance Coach Jon Harmon.  Harmon's squad of Ariz Duarte and Precious Robinson both punched their ticket to the NJCAA Outdoor National Meet in May by running the qualification time in the 1500 meter.

Princess Kara continues to dominate in the field events, and currently has the top marks in the nation in the Shot and Discuss.  "Princess is a hard worker and has her sights on continuing to improve each week, we are very happy to have her be a part of the CAC tradition" Stated Head Coach Andrew Wood.  "The weather was rough but all the teams have to deal with it, the best we can do is go out there and compete and make the best of the situation.  We are working vigilantly to get into competition shape each week".

The Vaqueros and Vaqueras will be back in action on 3/20/21 with their third meet of the season held at the Glendale Stadium.  Results for the Pima Invitational can be found here.
