The Vaqueros of Central Arizona College had a seven point half-time lead and everyone in the packed George S Young Gym knew that Camp Cochise wasn't going away. It's like this in every battle with these two. Cochise managed to tie the game at the end of regulation, then outscored Central 18-14 in a wild and frantic shoot 'em up OT for a 99-95 win.
It's so diappointing in that the Vaqueros had overcome injuries, tightened up their game-plan and chemistry and were playing great basketball in the second half of the season. Whata tough way to go.
"The chemistry was there, but not what it could have been been" said Assistant Coach Richarde McCray. "We have a very good class coming in next year."
Central will lose at least nine players from this years team but are ready to reload for 2015-16.
